This student film entitled "The Devil comes down to the Big Smoke" is a black comedy about greed, glutton and manipulation. The story is centralized around two characters, Séanie and The Devil.
Séanie wakes up one morning after a heavy night of drinking to see The Devil sitting in his living room asking for his soul. The Devil explains that Séanie sold his soul to him the night before.
Séanie challenges The Devil to a game of pool which will decide who will get to keep the soul.
Packed with witty dialogue, intriguing characters and touching moments, this film promises to be an exciting development.

We here at the Dublin Central School of Acting are currently enrolling for our next available weekend boot-camp course on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of February.
The course is designed specifically for those who wish to explore the possibility of making acting their professional career and for those who have been out of the business and need a quick refreshers course. The workshops are also ideal for newcomers and models.

How to maximise your chances at auditions- how
to prepare the script and how to pre empt and prepare what a Director may
want you to do-the Interview and how to give a good one -with Casting

Includes practical hands on demonstrations of both auditions and
interviews.Agent's/Photo/C.V. How to go about it.

Touring Theatre company to perform a show - demonstrating how an actor can put together a one person show at no cost, only a lot of hard work!!! - The performance also offers great ideas on choices of speeches - which - remember - are still used for many theatre auditions.

Bern Deegan - Practical hands on workshops with demonstrations on
Script/Character/Acting for Stage/Acting for Screen- the Key Differences and
the mistakes that are frequently made - The importance of improvisation and
the key skills to distinguish a good improvisation from a bad one - many
auditions- including film - improvisation use plus on occasion auditions at the Abbey Theatre.
*On Sunday 26th February*
Brendan Harrington will be taking an individual photo shoot to all
participants. The actor leaves the Workshops
and gets their photo session and then rejoins the Workshop. Actors will be
allocated specific times for their photoshoot session

Short Headshot Sessions
To produce Industry Standard Headshots- acceptable to Casting Directors, Agents etc.
BRENDAN'S WORKING METHOD :
STAGE ONE :Between 30 to 50 Photos will be taken.This sequence will be
emailed to you in the form of a Web Gallery (low resolution ) and you
then CHOOSE TWO IMAGES .
STAGE TWO: your CHOSEN photos are Finished as
High resolution Images .They can be Colour or Black and White (or
Mixture).Discs or Email Attachments - Your Choice.
Advice on what to wear and how to prepare for a professional photo will be given during the course.
11-1pm Bern Deegan - filming auditions - and playback time. Students to participate in the mock auditions and what we can learn from each other. Play back on screen.

Monologues performed in front of class for those who wish.Analysis and critique of performances.Voice and Breath techniques
We recommend that Students come with at least one - preferably two audition pieces appropriate to their age range. The pieces should last 2 minutes each. They should have read in full, the plays that they have selected for their monologues.

Beginning February 6th, iO West is offering a course allowing students to complete their level one training is just two weeks.
Great for actors looking to add a new line to their resume or needing something to their agents. Also, since so many commercial agents like for their clients to have improv experience, it's a wonderful way to begin a cover letter if you're looking for representation.
If you've completing training at another school and you don't want to lose momentum, you can take this two week intensive, with classes meeting Monday through Thursday then Monday to Wednesday from 11:30am to 3pm, then be able to register for level two the next week.
And it's fun! Take advantage of the iO West student ID and see classes for free during the session.

iO West Rolls Out New Curriculum for 2012
iO West is unveiling a brand new curriculum for their seven level improvisation program.
The overviews for all of the new classes are available at http://west.ioimprov.com/classes/curriculum-2012
Levels 1 through 4 will be put in place in January and Levels 5, 6, 7 and the Industry Improv classes will begin in February.
- If you are a current student, you may continue to proceed through the program as normal, but if you would like to go back and take a level you have already passed you can do so at half price!
- If you are an alum of our program, you are welcome to come back and take any level you would like, equal to or before the last level you completed, also at half price! Please note, though, that teachers will have the discretion to decide if you are not ready for the level you have signed up for. Contact the Training Center to help figure out the best class(es) for you to take.
- If you have not taken any levels at iO previously, then we look forward to seeing you in Level 1.
If you have any questions at all, please contact the Training Center and we would be more than happy to answer your questions.
You will notice that the current Level 6 class has been removed. The forms that it included (Armando, LaRonde, etc.) will be used in addition to many others, throughout your training in Levels 1 through 4.
